World AIDS Day is being observed today, December 1. On this day, people worldwide unite in the fight against AIDS, to show support to those who are living with HIV and to commemorate those who have died from AIDS. World AIDS Day was first observed in 1988 as the first-ever global health day.

दुनियाभर में एचआईवी संक्रमण के प्रति लोगों को जागरूक करने के लिए हर साल 1 दिसंबर को वर्ल्ड एड्स डे मनाया जाता है.1987 से हर साल एक दिसंबर को वर्ल्ड एड्स डे के रूप में मनाया जाता है। सबसे पहले विश्व एड्स दिवस को वैश्विक स्तर पर मनाने की शुरूआत WHO में एड्स की जागरुकता अभियान से जुड़े जेम्स डब्ल्यू बुन और थॉमस नेटर नाम के दो व्यक्तियों ने अगस्त 1987 में की थी।
