Woman trapped in 30-metre-deep well in northern China sparks tense rescue drama

A five-hour rescue drama unfolded in the city of Xingtai in the northern Chinese province of Hebei when a woman fell into a 30-metre-deep (98ft) well on November 20, 2020. Firefighters rushed to the scene after getting a call from a local farmer about the plight of the woman who is reportedly about 50 years of age. The well was made from a concrete pipe with a diameter of only about 30cm (1ft).
