US lifts Boeing 737 MAX flight ban after finishing safety probe of Indonesia and Ethiopia crashes

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted its 20-month flight ban on Boeing’s 737 MAX plan on November 18, 2020. The aircraft model was grounded in March 2019 after it was involved in two fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia. The disasters within five months of each other in late 2018 and early 2019 killed a total of 346 people. The FAA has ordered software upgrades and new pilot training to deal with a stall-prevention system called MCAS which was a factor in both crashes. US…
