Owner of Korean Air in talks to acquire Asiana Airlines: Sources

Hanjin Group, the owner of South Korea's top flag carrier Korean Air, is reportedly interested in acquiring its next biggest rival, Asiana Airlines.
Sources say Hanjin is in talks with the state-run Korea Development Bank to buy the debt-ridden airline.
A KDB official said a deal is under consideration, but noted nothing has been confirmed yet.
Asiana Airlines has been struggling to stay afloat due to the impact of the pandemic.
A deal, if reached, would see the number of travelers using Korean Air and Asiana jump to more than half of the total number of local passengers.
