Withdrawal From French Open.
The prestigious tournament is scheduled
to begin on September 27 in Paris, France. .
Its traditional spring dates were postponed
earlier this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. .
In a post to social media, Osaka explained that her decision to
withdraw was due to a lingering hamstring injury combined
with a lack of preparation time for the clay courts.
Unfortunately I won't be able to play the
French Open this year … My hamstring is
still sore so I won't have enough time
to prepare for the clay,

She then referenced the U.S. Open, saying
the two tournaments “came too close to
each other for [her]” this year. .
The 22-year-old won the U.S. Open on September 12. It marks
her second U.S. Open victory and her third Grand Slam title.
Osaka did not confirm when she would
be playing next, but instead promised her fans
that they would “see [her] sooner than later.”
