Chargers’ Team Doctor Accidentally
Punctures QB Tyrod Taylor’s Lung.
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor was forced to
sit out of last Sunday’s game after a stunning medical mishap.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter,
Taylor’s lung was accidentally punctured
by the team doctor just before kickoff.
The Chargers were facing off
against the Kansas City Chiefs
in week 2 of the NFL season. .
The unnamed doctor was
reportedly trying to give
Taylor a pain-killing injection
for his cracked ribs. .
Taylor was incapacitated by the injury,
and rookie Justin Herbert was forced to
step up and make his NFL debut. .
Chargers coach Anthony Lynn has since
said that Taylor will be back as their starting
quarterback, but doctors disagree.
Schefter reports that Taylor has since been advised
to not play for an indefinite amount of time.
Doctors have advised Tyrod Taylor not to play
"indefinitely” due to his punctured lung. The
Chargers were hoping Taylor would be able
to start Sunday, but doctors are against it,
