Patriots Cornerback Stephon Gilmore
Tests Positive for COVID-19.
According to an inside source, the Defensive Player of the Year
underwent additional testing to confirm the positive result. .
Gilmore’s positive test comes just
two days after the Patriots' Monday night
game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Chiefs practice-squad
quarterback Jordan Ta’amu
tested positive last week.
As of Tuesday, no additional Chiefs
players or staff have tested positive.
Gilmore is the third player on the
Patriots’ team to be affected by COVID-19. .
Quarterback Cam Newton tested positive last
week and was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. .
On Tuesday, practice-squad defensive lineman
Bill Murray was also placed on that reserve list. .
The Patriots have canceled their
scheduled Wednesday practice.
Their upcoming Sunday game
against the Denver Broncos is reportedly
being evaluated by the league.
