NFL May Force Tennessee Titans to
Forfeit Game Against Buffalo Bills.
On Thursday morning, another
Tennessee Titans player tested
positive for COVID-19.
A total of at least 23 Titans players
and staff members have tested positive since the
outbreak’s suspected beginning, September 24. .
The NFL has already had to reschedule the Titans’ Week 4
game against the Pittsburgh Steelers for October 25. .
Now, the league is running out of options
and might have to force the Titans to forfeit their
upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills. .
The move would be a historic moment
for the NFL, as there has never been a
forfeited game in the history of the league. .
In a memo to all 32 clubs, NFL Commissioner
Roger Goodell hinted at the potential forfeit,
saying it would be a possible form of “discipline”
in response to “protocol violations.” .
On Wednesday, several unconfirmed reports surfaced about
Titans players participating in an unauthorized offsite workout.
Protocol violations that result in virus spread
requiring adjustments to the schedule or otherwise
impacting other teams will result in additional
