SPY CITY follows the story of an English spy FIELDING SCOTT (Dominic Cooper) who is sent to Berlin in 1961 to sift out a traitor in the UK Embassy or among the Allies, shortly before the peak of the Cold War and construction of the Berlin Wall. American, British and French troops in West Berlin are separated from their Soviet and East German counterparts by nothing more than an imaginary line. Teeming with spies & double agents - among them the beautiful and dangerous SEVERINE BLOCH (Romane Portail) - and permeated by a culture of subterfuge and sabotage, one wrong move in this city could trigger the looming threat of nuclear war. SPY CITY transports viewers back in time as witnesses to the perilous tribulations and thrilling adventures of the spies, traitors, burglars, artists and everyday civilians trying to survive in what Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev declared, “the most dangerous place on earth.” Not knowing who they can trust, the complicated relationships of these Berlin inhabitants intertwine into a tale of revenge and betrayal.
