G7 Summit: Trump Jokes With Modi, Says He Speaks Very Good English But Just Doesn't Want To Talk
  • 3 years ago
United States President Donald Trump on August 26 met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of G-7 Summit in France’s Biarritz. Both the dignitaries held bilateral meet and also interacted the mediapersons. Modi spoke to the media in Hindi to which Trump jokingly replied saying, ‘He speaks very good English but just doesn’t want to talk.” The two leaders then exchanged a warm handshake and the scribes burst into laughter. Reacting on his country being treated more fairly now by the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Trump said, “We haven't been happy with the WTO. But now, we are winning cases, we won the big airbus case... it was the tremendous case, billions of dollars. That was the most recent victory; we are being treated more fairly now in the WTO, which we appreciate,” Trump said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the ongoing G-7 summit here.
