Known as the city of Lord Shiva, Varanasi welcomed Lord Ganesha with full religious fervour and gaiety. An artist from Varanasi also showed his love by blindfolding himself and sketching Lord Ganesha. Ganesh Chaturthi marks the birth of Lord Ganesha. The festival is celebrated with immense religious fervour and gaiety in many parts of the country. Devotees offer ‘modak’ to Lord Ganesha whom they lovingly call ‘Bappa’.
