Friday the 13th is considered the unluckiest day of the year. Whenever Friday and the date 13 come together, the outcome is believed to be inauspicious. The origin story for this superstition is somewhat uncertain, but it derives from the fear of the number 13, called triskaidekaphobia. This year Friday the 13th will occur twice, once in September and the next in December 2019.
