Students of Kolkata’s Jadavpur University staged protest against Union Minister Babul Supriyo. The minister was heckled by students at university where he went to attend a programme organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar rescued MoS Babul Supriyo in his car from the university campus. Supriyo faced protest by Students' Federation of India (SFI) and All India Students Association (AISA) members who were opposing his visit. Heavy security was deployed outside Jadavpur University.
