Saturday’s violence at the Tiz Hazari court in Delhi had started over parking slots. The police had objected to a lawyer wrongly parking his vehicle, blocking the way to the lock-up. This led to a massive clash between the policemen and lawyers. 12 motorcycles, eight prison vans and a police vehicle were torched. Video footage of the clash showed a huge group of lawyers raining blows on a few policemen. On Tuesday, Delhi police personnel staged a protest outside the police headquarters against the inaction by top leadership. Then, lawyers at the district staged a protest in the capital.
