Death toll in the bushfires raging across Australia’s New South Wales has gone up to 4. Fires have destroyed about one million hectares (2.5 million acres) of farmland and bush over the past week. Some 300 homes have been damaged in NSW alone. Bushfires are common in Australia’s hot summers but this year’s early arrival has taken many by surprise. Reportedly, around 60 fires were burning around NSW on Thursday morning and around 1000 firefighters were working to cool it down.
