Mumbai Cop Tests Positive For COVID-19, Says ‘Dont Worry My Friends, Ill Be Back On Duty Soon

Displaying exemplary courage, a 29-year-old COVID-19 positive Mumbai cop asked his colleagues not to take tension as he left for the quarantine centre. Moments before he was taken to the quarantine centre, the cop said, “Don’t worry my friends, I will be back on duty”. Mumbai Police took to Twitter to share a video which is inspiring and at the same time heartening. Though the duration of the video is just 15 seconds, it will surely leave you emotional. In the same thread, Mumbai Police also shared a few lines from a poem written by the renowned Marathi poet Vasant Bapat. Many wished the policeman speedy recovery while some lauded the bravery of police officials. Till now, more than 100 police personnel in Maharashtra have tested positive for COVID-19. The maximum number of Maharashtra police personnel diagnosed with the deadly virus are from Mumbai. Three cops in Mumbai have already succumbed to COVID-19. On April 28, Mumbai police asked their personnel over 55 years to stay at home. Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh issued an order in this regard. All three cops who died in Mumbai were over 50 years of age.
