Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri faced racist comments from a user during an Instagram live chat with Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli. ‘Ye Nepali kon h (who is this Nepali),’ an Instagram user by the handle ‘yasharma.official’ commented during the live chat. A Twitter user shared a screenshot of the Instagram live chat with the comment and condemned the racist attitude towards people from the North-East. He also specified the derogatory words that are frequently used for them in some other parts of India. In April 2020, when citizens from the north-eastern part of India were subjected to racist remarks, Chhetri had condemned the incidents. Twitter users were enraged by the racist comment by Instagram user ‘yasharma.official’. Chhetri and Kohli, who share a great bond, were involved in a freewheeling chat on May 18 and the camaraderie between the two was visible. Sunil Chhetri is India's highest-ever goal-scorer, with 72 strikes for the country.
