Children who are missing cleft palate are treated in Clapp General Hospital in Faisal Town. Dr. Ghulam Qadir Fiaz informed that they have imported a device from the US that analyzes the voice of the patient. The device tells what percentage of voice is originating from the throat and what percentage of it is coming from the nose. He revealed that after the surgery, speech therapy is conducted with the help of this particular device. Dr. Ghulam said it is better to receive treatment of cleft palate as early as possible, such as at the age of 2 years. The device can also be used to improve voice; singers, hawkers or teachers whose voices become hoarse due to the nature of their profession can get treatment as well.
