Difficulties Faced By The Villagers Of Shah Di Khui | History Of An Old Village In Lahore
  • 3 years ago
Shah Di Khui Fateh Singh is a historic village between Iqbal Town and Muslim Town that is 200 years old. There was a saint named Shah Abul Mali who stayed in the area near a well and prayed there. This area came to be known as ‘Shah Di Khui’. The property initially belonged to a Sikh who passed it on to his sons. One of his sons was Fateh Singh. The people who live in this area face many difficulties. A resident of the village reported that there are no schools in Shah Di Khui and children travel long distances to attend school outside the village. Furthermore, people of this village still do not have a right to the property even after a law was passed in the constitution of Pakistan in 1995. Watch the video to find out what improvements have been made in this village over the years and what still needs to be done.
