The full moon of the Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is known as Sharad Purnima. According to the scriptures, Sharad Purnima is given great importance. Hemant season starts only after this full moon and gradually the winter season begins. Goddess Lakshmi is specially worshiped on this day.

अश्विन मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की पूर्णिमा को शरद पूर्णिमा के नाम से जाना जाता है। शास्त्रों के अनुसार शरद पूर्णिमा को काफी महत्व दिया जाता है। इस पूर्णिमा के बाद से ही हेमंत ऋतु का आरंभ हो जाता है और धीरे- धीरे सर्दी का मौसम शुरू हो जाता है। इस दिन माता लक्ष्मी की विशेष पूजा की जाती है।
