Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the grand finale of the Smart India Hackathon — a nation-wide competition held by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE). He interacted with students and enquired about their projects ranging from women’s hygiene products to crime detection technologies to water harvesting. This year, over 4.5 lakh entries were received for the competition.After interacting with students, PM also talked about the New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. He said that the NEP is not just a policy but a compilation of aspirations of all the Indians. It will convert job seekers into job creators. He gave a mantra to students and said, “never stop three things in life – learning, questioning and solving.”
The Tamil Nadu government has passed an order to rename three metro stations in Chennai after three late Chief Ministers of the state. According to a government order, the Alandur station will be called 'Arignar Anna Alandur Metro', the Central Metro as 'Puratchi Thalaivar Dr M G Ramachandran Central Metro' and the CMBT station as 'Puratchi Thalaivi Dr J Jayalalithaa CMBT Metro.'
A senior AIADMK Minister in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday backed Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman on him being allegedly denied work in the Hindi cinema industry because of a "gang" there, asserting the musician was beyond boundaries.It was a matter of "regret" that Rahman, "who has scaled Himalayan heights" by winning hearts across the world, could not get good films because some persons were spreading rumours about him in the Hindi cinema industry, Municipal Administration Minister SP Velumani said in a tweet.
