Vaccine research and human trials are in full swing around the world to fight corona infection.
The human trails for the Indian invention the COVAXIN vaccine, , has just begun. Bharat Biotech, a Hyderabad-based company, have invented this vaccine.

Preliminary research for covaxin, India's first COVID-19 vaccine, began nationwide on July 15. 375 volunteers are participating in this for human testing.

During the research, one group will be vaccinated and another will be given a placebo(Placebos are substances that are made to resemble drugs but do not contain an active drug).
The research is said to be double-blind. This means that the researcher and volunteer involved in the research doesn’t know who is being vaccinated and who is not given the drug.The Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) has so far approved the human testing of 2 vaccines.

The Covaxin vaccine, developed by a joint venture between Bharat Biotech and Indian Council of Medical Research and the vaccine developed by Zydus Catlia Health Institute, has also been approved for human testing in the first and second stages.

Dr. Balram Bhargava, Director, Indian Council of Medical Research, said that both vaccines have been successfully tested on rats, mice and rabbits and after successful completion of the experiment, human testing is now approved.
