The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a watch for a depression off the Odisha-West Bengal coasts by Friday, the second during post-monsoon this year, as a prevailing low-pressure area over the Central Bay of Bengal undergoes gradual intensification. Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall with isolated heavy falls is forecast over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalaseema, Telangana and Odisha until Friday; and over the plains of West Bengal on Thursday; and over North-East India from Thursday to Saturday.

अक्टूबर जाने को है लेकिन मॉनसून अब तक आफत बनकर देश के कई राज्यों में कहर बरपा रहा है। IMD ने चेतावनी दी है कि बंगाल की खाड़ी में निम्न दबाव का क्षेत्र बन गया है, जिसके कारण आज और कल बंगाल और ओडिशा में भारी से भारी बारिश होने की आशंका है। इस दौरान मछुआरों को समुद्र में न जाने की सलाह दी गई है।मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक बंगाल की खाड़ी में निम्न दबाव बन रहा है, जिसके चक्रवात में बदलने का अनुमान है। इससे क्षेत्र में तेज हवा के साथ झमाझम बारिश होन की संभावना है।
