A major earthquake of magnitude seven-point-five struck near Alaska just before 2PM Monday local time, ...triggering a tsunami warning for the area.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, ...the quake was centered 91 kilometers from Sand Point, Alaska ...and was at a depth of 40 kilometers.
A tsunami warning was issued for Sand Point, Cold Bay and Kodiak.
The warning was downgraded to an advisory two hours after the quake.
