Former GOP Lawmaker Charged With Assaulting Poll Worker

Making multiple false statements about this year's election, President Donald Trump has repeatedly called on his supporters to carefully watch polling locations.
I am urging my supporters to go into the polls and watch very carefully, because that's what has to happen. I am urging them to do it. US President Donald Trump
Now, Business Insider reports it seems a former Republican lawmaker in North Carolina took Trump's exhortations a bit too much to heart.
Former Wake County commissioner Gary Pendleton was charged with a misdemeanor for allegedly assaulting a poll worker on Friday.
Pendleton said he was 'observing' at the polling location in Wake Forest at the direction of the county Republican Party.
He tried to enter the polling place thirty minutes before it officially opened. After security refused him entry, he tried to get around the worker.
When the worker blocked him, Pendleton pushed the worker back. He was cited a Class 3 misdemeanor.
