अनिल कुंबले भारत के सर्वश्रेष्ठ क्रिकेट खिलाड़ियों में से एक हैं। आज ही के दिन 17 अक्टूबर साल 1970 को अनिल कुंबले का हुआ था जन्म. अनिल कुंबले भारत के पहले स्पिनर तथा दूसरे भारतीय खिलाड़ी हैं, जिन्होंने सीमित ओवर वाले अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट में 200 विकेट का आंकड़ा पार किया था। कुंबले अपने जज्बे के लिए मशहूर हैं। कुंबले को 'जंबो' के नाम से भी जाना जाता है। गौरतलब है कि कुंबले टीम इंडिया के कप्तान के अलावा कोच भी रह चुके हैं।
