Preparations for Navratri are being done loudly in every house. Ghata is established on the first day of Navratri. Very important things are needed in a small establishment. Barley is considered to be most important in the worship of Navratri. Use of barley is essential in the worship of Goddess Durga.

नवरात्र की तैयारियां हर घर में जोर-शोर से हो रही है। नवरात्र के पहले दिन घट स्‍थापना की जाती है। घट स्‍थापना में बहुत ही महत्‍वपूर्ण चीजों की जरूरत पड़ती है। पूजा में हर चीज का अपना एक अलग महत्‍व होता है। नवरात्र की पूजा में मुख्‍य रूप से लौंग, इलाइची, कपूर और गाय के घी और आम की लकड़ी का प्रयोग किया जाता है। इन सभी चीजों का अपना महत्‍व होता है। नवरात्र की पूजा में सबसे जरूरी मानी जाती है जौ। मां दुर्गा की आराधना में जौ का प्रयोग अनिवार्य होता है।
