Names of the candidates have been announced as soon as the seats in the NDA and the Mahagabhan are aligned. Polling for 71 seats is to be held in the first phase. For this, preparations are in full swing in the NDA and the grand alliance. While JDU has nominated Mayor Vijay Singh as its candidate from Bari assembly constituency of Katihar, JDU has also nominated Deputy Mayor Suraj Prakash Rai from Kadwa assembly constituency.

एनडीए और महागबंधन में सीटों का तालमेल होते ही प्रत्याशियों के नामों की घोषणा कर दी गयी है. पहले चरण में 71 सीटों के लिए मतदान होना है. इसके लिए एनडीए और महागठबंधन में तैयारी जोरों पर है.कटिहार के बरारी विधानसभा क्षेत्र से जदयू ने जहां महापौर विजय सिंह को अपना उम्मीदवार बनाया हैं, वही जदयू ने ही कदवा विधानसभा क्षेत्र से उप-महापौर सूरज प्रकाश राय को भी अपना प्रत्याशी बनाया है.
