In this video, I'll show you why 3D modeling can be useful and where 3D models could be used. In the second part of the video, I'll be going through the process required to create a 3D characters or VR avatar so that you can make an educated decision on whether you want to venture on the journey of a 3D modeler.

3D modeling, involving modeling, uv unwrapping, texturing, rigging, weight-painting, animation, blend shapes and morph targets, shader programming and lastly setting up a materials, can be done in a 3D modeling application such as the free and open source program called Blender. The finished model then can be used in various game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
