One in four police officers in a major U.S. city were found to be suffering from mental health conditions.
The conditions present in these officers were depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and suicidal ideation.
According to a new survey published Wednesday, less than 20% of the affected officers had sought treatment.
The findings are based on a survey of working police officers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
For their study researchers surveyed 434 patrol officers working for a large police department.
According to UPI, 82% of the responding officers were male and in their 30s.
