Police officers are now allowed to issue compound notices against individuals who breach Covid-19 prevention procedures on the spot without having to bring offenders to a police station.

Senior Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced this in his press conference aired live on Facebook earlier today.

Prior to this, police personnel and officers had to bring individuals who flout procedures under the recovery movement control order (MCO) to a police station before a compound notice can be issued against them.
