The power employees proceeded on an indefinite strike from Monday in response to a call given by UP Vidyut Karmachari Sanyukt Sangharsh Samiti to protest against the proposed privatisation of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Limited (PVVNL), leaving consumers in distress amid long power cuts and supply disruption.
