Police use water cannon to disperse mass anti-Lukashenko rally
Belarusian police have used water cannon to disperse anti-government protesters who once again took to the streets of the capital, according to media reports and videos posted in social media.
Tens of thousands of people have marched through the centre of Minsk, as protests against President Lukashenko continue, calling for him to step down as anger over elections widely seen as rigged simmers on.
The demonstrators also called for the release of hundreds of detainees who had been taken by the security forces.

Al Jazeera’s Laura Burdon-Manley reports.
