Turkish Warships Fire Missiles in Mediterranean, Greece Moveless and Silent
  • 4 yıl önce
The Turkish Armed Forces to this day continue to show of force in the East Mediterranean Sea. They were aggressively showing strength in front of Greece and its French supporters who rejected the existence of the Turkish Armed Forces in the East Mediterranean.

The Turkish Defense Ministry said the Turkish warship Frigate Gediz was conducting exercises in the waters of the East Mediterranean. The Fregat Gediz has fired surface air defense missiles to test its operational readiness in the East Mediterranean Sea.

The Turkish Republic ship Gediz successfully carried out surface fire and air defense drills under operational readiness activities in the East Mediterranean Sea on September 17, 2020, "said the Turkish Defense Ministry as quoted by Anadolu Agency, Saturday, September 19, 2020.

But until now, neither Greece nor its supporters, France have had anything to do with the military drills that the Turkish warships recently conducted in the East Mediterranean Sea.
As is well known, the situation in the East Mediterranean waters is currently tense. The Turkish Military Forces are still on standby to guard the oil and gas exploration research ship 'Oruc Reis' which is currently operating in the seas off the East Mediterranean.
Turkey's activities have met with strong resistance from Greece. Greece claims that Turkey has violated the sovereignty of Greek Cypriots, so that they had deployed the Greek Armed Forces at several points to overshadow the Turkish military activities. Not only that, the Greek refusal was fully supported by France, even France was known to have deployed its combat fleet to the East Mediterranean Sea to prepare to repel Turkish military forces that were in the East Mediterranean.

Daily tensions continue to rise, a major war in the East Mediterranean is likely to happen in the near future if each side continues to insist on its decision.
