President Donald Trump has been forced off the campaign trail after testing positive for COVID-19, in a political bombshell that upends his White House race against Joe Biden one month from the election.

Since the start of the pandemic, Trump's handling of COVID-19 has been controversial, with his initial reluctance to wear a mask, his suggestion that people could try injecting disinfectants to help cure them of the virus, and in saying numerous times that the virus would disappear on its own.
