India pushes to build roads near Chinese border, in a bid to boost infrastructure in border areas

India workers are pushing hard to blast and smash a way through the Himalayas as part of the country’s effort to boost infrastructure along the unsettled border with China. The construction of the Nimmu-Padam-Darcha highway is expected to be finished in three years. It will be the only year-round access road to large parts of Ladakh, including the border zone.
