The monsoons might have subsided in most of India, but parts of northern Bihar are still bearing the brunt of heavy rains and subsequent floods. Heavy rainfall has been recorded in several parts of Bihar. The problem of the floods has been amplified by the heavy discharge of water from the Valmikinagar barrage over Gandak river on the Indo-Nepal border.
