The Rajya Sabha, on Wednesday, passed the three labour legislations that will bring about much needed labour reforms, making it easier for employers to hire and fire workers while bringing all workers under some form of social security. The bills were passed in the Upper House amidst absence of the opposition which has decided to boycott the remaining monsoon session of the Parliament after eight Rajya Sabha MPs were suspended.

विपक्ष के विरोध और सदन से वॉकआउट के बीच नए श्रम विधेयक को लोकसभा के बाद राज्यसभा में भी पारित कर दिया गया. इंडस्ट्रियल रिलेशन बिल, ऑक्यूपेशनल सेफ्टी, हेल्थ एंड वर्किंग कंडीशन बिल, सोशल सिक्योरिटी बिल, इन तीनों विधेयकों को सदन में ध्वनिमत से पारित किया गया. नए श्रम कानून से देश के संगठित और असंगठित दोनों ही प्रकार के श्रमिकों को कई प्रकार की नई सुविधाएं मिलेंगी.
