Footage shows the aftermath of a severe storm that hit Malaysia on Thursday (September 17).

A billboard was toppled while a giant tree was uprooted and landed on a car in Kota Bahru City, Kelantan State.

Footage shows workers struggling to secure the fallen billboard during strong winds and heavy rain that battered the area.

A huge tree was also seen blocking the motorway when it was uprooted by the strong winds that swept the city.

Several cars were also reportedly hit by a fallen tree in different locations. There were no reported injuries.

Kota Bharu City Fire and Rescue Department head Zukeri Shafie said they were working to clear the roads from the destruction left by the storm.

He said: "The heavy rains and strong winds damaged a lot of properties, and we were asked to do some clearings.''

The affected families were evacuated to a safer location in temporary shelters until the weather condition is better.
