Coronavirus surge in Europe spares Swedes. Does its herd-immunity approach work?

While many European countries are seeing new cases surge to levels not seen since the last peak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Sweden – whose herd-immunity approach has made it an international outlier – has one of the continent’s lowest infection rates. Despite living in Sweden’s worst affected region, residents of the capital Stockholm said on September 17, 2020, that they are generally satisfied with the country adopting the controversial strategy.
