Once a person is convicted of a crime that requires a custodial sentence in Hong Kong, he or she will be sent to one of the city’s 28 correctional facilities. Hong Kong prisons are divided into three security levels, but what is common among all of them is a  strict set of rules and routines prisoners must follow during their time of incarceration. We talked to people who spent time inside Hong Kong’s prisons to get first-hand accounts of what life is like inside.
