The state of California recorded 11,000 lightning strikes in just 72 hours.
According to Reuters, there were nearly 11,000 lightning strikes recorded in 72 hours in the past week when California, USA, had the biggest thunderstorms in more than 10 years. The lightning strikes caused 367 small fires and nearly 20 of them became massive fires.
Three large fires, burning dozens of hectares of forest are happening in California (USA). A fire helicopter pilot was killed in an accident while on duty, while dozens of California homes burned down on August 19.
