Every year, dozens of detainees die from hunger or disease in the overcrowded and unsanitary prisons of the Democratic Republic of Congo. AFPTV was able to enter one of them in Bunia, capital of Ituri province (northeast), where two detainees died this week for a total of at least 17 deaths since April. The prison is concerned about the lack of food and medicine. Churches are organising food distributions.
