लॉकडाउन के बाद पूरे देश से प्रवासी मजदूर अपने घरों की ओर लौटन लगे. शुरुआती समय में रेलवे या सरकार ने उन्हें घर वापस जाने के लिए कोई खास प्रबंध नहीं की. लेकिन जब दबाव बढ़ने लगा तो सरकार ने कुछ श्रमिक स्पेशल ट्रेनें चलाई. जिसपर सुप्रीम कोर्ट का आदेश था कि रेलवे इन मजदूरों से किराया नहीं ले, साथ ही उन्हें खाने-पीने का भी प्रबंध करे. लेकिन एक आरटीआई से खुलासा हुआ है कि रेलवे ने सुप्रीम कोर्ट के आदेश का पालन नहीं किया. दरअसल न्यूज वेबसाइट द वायर ने रेलवे से आरटीआई के जरिए सूचना मांगी थी. रेलवे द्वारा दिए गए उसी सूचना के आधार पर द वायर ने ये खुलासा किया है.
