After Virat Kohli and wife Anushka Sharma revealed that they are expected to be parents by early January, questions were raised on the Indian captain's availability for the Australia tour. Media reports Down Under said Cricket Australia (CA) and its broadcasters would be “holding their breath” over the availability of one of the biggest drawcards of world cricket. “He’s available for the tour, at least he has not said anything to the contrary,” said the official, who asked to remain anonymous.

विराट कोहली ने कुछ दिन पहले ही क्रिकेट फैंस को सोशल मीडिया पर बताया था कि वो पिता बनने जा रहे हैं. जनवरी में अनुष्का शर्मा मां बन सकती है. यानी नए साल में विराट कोहली के घर में किलकारियां बजने वाली है. इस खबर के बाद लोगों ने कोहली और अनुष्का शर्मा को बधाई देनी शुरू कर दी. पर क्रिकेट ऑस्ट्रेलिया ने माथा पकड़ लिया. वजह ये कि कहीं अनुष्का शर्मा के साथ विराट कोहली समय बिताने के लिए ऑस्ट्रेलिया दौरे पर न आए. जाहिर तौर पर निजी कारणों से कोहली छुट्टी ले सकते हैं और अगर कोहली सीरीज खेलने न जाएंगे तो फिर क्रिकेट ऑस्ट्रेलिया को घाटा उठाना पड़ सकता है. भारत का ये दौरा जनवरी 2021 के मध्य तक चलेगा.
