Large crowd marches through London to mark Day of Ashura despite social distancing restrictions

Thousands of Muslims marked the Day of Ashura this afternoon by marching along Oxford Street in Central London. The day is said to be when Imam Hussain, the grandson of Prophet Mohammad, was martyred by the army of Yazid during the Battle of Karbala. Despite social distancing restrictions, many came together to show their devotion and respect for the holy day.
