Earlier this month, Mauritius saw thousand tons of fuel oozed into its waters from a Japanese ship that hit a reef off the island. African environmental groups like Friends of the Earth Africa and the African Climate Justice Group are condemning what they call incompetence from authorities in handling the aftermath of the oil spill.
