Diamond polishing industry has suffered a blow due to Covid-19 pandemic. Dinesh Navadiya, Gujarat regional chairman of Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council said, “Compared to last year, the exports have gone down by US$ 3000 Million.” “The demand for Indian diamond has not gone down but everything was closed across the world, so there was no business,” said Dinesh Navadiya. On the other side employees have to work under half wages after the lockdown period.
