Hritlika Vrat is observed on Tritiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month. This year this fast will be celebrated on 21 August 2020. On this day, Suhaginis fast for the longevity of their husbands. It is believed that Goddess Parvati performed this fast to get Lord Shiva. On this day, girls also observe this fast to get a good husband. This festival is especially celebrated in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand and Rajasthan. According to the scriptures, Haritalika Teej is considered to be the greatest Teej.

भाद्रपद माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की तृतीया तिथि को हरतालिका व्रत रखा जाता है। इस वर्ष यह व्रत 21 अगस्त 2020 को मनाया जाएगा। इस दिन सुहागिनें अपने पतियों की दीर्घायु के लिए व्रत करती हैं। ऐसा माना जाता है कि माता पार्वती ने भगवान शिव को पाने के लिए यह व्रत किया था। वहीं, इस दिन कुंवारी कन्याएं भी अच्छा पति पाने के लिए यह व्रत रखती हैं। यह त्यौहार खासतौर से उत्तर प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड, मध्य प्रदेश, छत्तीसगढ़, बिहार, झारखंड और राजस्थान में मनाया जाता है। शास्त्रों के अनुसार, हरितालिका तीज को सबसे बड़ी तीज माना जाता है।
