A massive mudslide hit a town in northwestern China, flooding over 300 houses and leaving 48 people trapped on the rooftops.

In the video, filmed in Wen County in Gansu Province on August 17, mud can be seen flying down a slope, washing away a utility pole.

Vehicles were swept away and houses were submerged in the floodwater.

The mudslide was caused by days of heavy rainfall. Helicopters were used to rescue the trapped people and currently 28 out of the 48 trapped people have been saved.
